Shattered Car Windows At Sports Complex Top North Castle Police Blotter

Detectives from the North Castle Police Department are on the lookout for a suspect that shattered several car windows without provocation at a busy Armonk sports complex.

Officers were dispatched to the Armonk Indoor Sports Center on Business Park Drive at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, after receiving multiple calls from patrons there reporting that there were several vehicles with broken windows.

In total, four vehicles had their windows smashed, with an undisclosed amount of change and other items were taken. Police interviewed witnesses at the scene and are currently investigating the incident.

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, Jan. 19 through Thursday, Jan. 25 include:

  • Police were dispatched to a Hunter Avenue home on Wednesday morning, when the homeowner told police that she had received a third-party call from a neighbor reporting that her front door was wide open, when it should be closed. Officers responded to the home and checked the interior, which was untouched. Officers were able to secure the residence before clearing the scene.
  • A member of the Armonk Fire Department  reported to police on Tuesday night that he received information that there was a suspicious person walking around the firehouse and looking in windows. Officers tracked down the suspect, who determined that he was not a threat, had broken down and sought assistance from the firehouse.
  • Police removed a boulder from Route 22 after a Mount Pleasant Police Sergeant said he received reports that it was blocking the roadway.
